Karta Singh

He was born in Morocco in 1950. In his early life he was influenced by the teachings of the Sufis. He is passionate about sacred construction, architecture, music, and dance. At the age of 21 he was initiated into the freemasons, where he learned traditional and spiritual teachings. Later he was initiated in shamanic techniques of healing. Looking for a true master (Sat Guru) he met Yogi Bhajan. As a consequence, he left his work as a national forester to become a yogi.

Whilst living a family life with four children, he spent most of his time spreading the teachings. In addition to being the founding director of the Amrit Nam Sarovar School of Kundalini Yoga Karta Singh is the Founder of the French Federation of Kundalini Yoga. He is recognized by IKYTA as a teacher trainer of Kundalini Yoga and has held various offices within IKYTA.

He contributed to the development of the curriculum of levels 1 and 2 as a member of the KRI Advisory Board. He was invited to teach with Yogi Bhajan at the Master's Touch Course in Assisi and Blois and was responsible for the programme of the European Yoga Festival.

He has trained over 300 Kundalini Yoga teachers in Europe since 1987 and as a pioneer, he created teacher training courses in France, Belgium, England, Russia, Austria and Switzerland.

His work today is to complete the school and build an international sangat (community)
